Kindred Country II

These two works began side by side, with music playing in the studio and memories of wide open spaces in mind. As the first layers unfolded, I found myself thinking of both the land I come from — the colours of home, the feeling of space — and the Texas landscapes that had begun to stir my imagination.

They felt like kindred places.

With each mark, I traced contours and rhythms that could belong to either country — familiar and far, wild and warm. These paintings are a reflection of that connection: a shared spirit of freedom, colour, and earth.
